Ms. Lanyan is in the midst of an inquiry project about insects with her 1st grade class. In her classroom, all students have their own ladybugs in containers, for which they are responsible for feeding, caring, and recording observations.  In addition, she keeps crickets in a specialized terrarium and chrysalis in the butterfly "pavilion."  While working with children, Miss Lewis carried a checklist and recorded results to a question, "Are there more ladybugs or insects in our classroom?"  Miss Lewis is assessing
