Suppose 3 mothers were accidentally exposed to a teratogen during their pregnancies. Who would have the lowest risk for having a child with some sort of birth defect?
◦ Abbey, who is exposed during the germinal period of prenatal development
◦ Brittany, who is exposed during the embryonic period of prenatal development
◦ Whitney, who is exposed during the fetal period of prenatal development
◦ All 3 women would have approximately equal chances of having a child affected by the teratogen.
