What is the function of the nitrogen-charged pneumatic accumulator on a hydraulic brake booster?


To prevent power steering fluid from mixing with brake fluid
To provide reserve power assist pressure if the engine stalls
To reduce boost pressure when pedal effort is low
To hold return pressure until the brake pedal is released
