Answer to Question 1

While some women do not experience hot flashes at all, others find them debilitating. Women describe a hot flash as a sudden and intense feeling of body heat around the face and upper parts of the body. They are often accompanied by a rapid heartbeat and sweating. Typically, hot flashes occur at night while a woman is sleeping, although they can happen at other times of the day as well. There are many theories as to what causes hot flashes. Many believe that hot flashes are caused by the effect of low estrogen levels on the hypothalamus, the part of the brain that regulates body temperature. Eventually, hot flashes disappear as the body adjusts to the decline in estrogen.

Answer to Question 2

There is no strong evidence that drinking coffee stunts growth in children. However, coffee and other caffeinated beverages can interfere with sleep and can make children hyperactive and agitated. For this reason, coffee is not recommended for children. Furthermore, coffee offers children very little in terms of nutrients.

Your skin wrinkles if you stay in the bathtub a long time because the outermost layer of skin (which consists of dead keratin) swells when it absorbs water. It is tightly attached to the skin below it, so it compensates for the increased area by wrinkling. This happens to the hands and feet because they have the thickest layer of dead keratin cells.
