| Description: The result of a PET scan is a digital image of a process in the body’s interior. These two PET scans show the activity of a molecule called MAO-B in the body of a non-smoker (left) and a smoker (right). The activity is color-coded from red (highest activity) to purple (lowest). Low MAO-B activity is associated with violence, impulsiveness, and other behavioral problems.
