The main emphasis was on employment. There were multiple areas of legislation that sought to address the 1st. area. These could be explained in detail of the names and what they hoped to accomplish. The 2nd area includes measure of poverty and the awareness of the role of discrimination. The Civil Rights Act was developed to help address these issues. The 3rd area viewed the cycles of less and more unemployment coupled with increased in non-traditional families more at risk of poverty and receiving ADC.Answer 2
There are multiple programs that were developed during the War on Poverty. Some of these include Head Start, Adult Basic Education, Work Study, Community Action (which involved multiple programs, Upward Bound, etc. Most of these are still in effect today and most remain successful. Including specifics about how they ae successful would be helpful. There have been large funding cuts to some of these programs. Whether the War on Poverty was successful remains debated and different ideological perspectives see this in different ways. The student can take the perspective they believe and discuss this. Either answer can be correct.
