Title: Why do some multicultural scholars argue that single parent families do NOT exist?
Post by: mia on Aug 19, 2019
Why do some multicultural scholars argue that single parent families do NOT exist?
◦ Most single parents remarry within two years, so the child becomes part of a blended family.
◦ Often grandmothers, other relatives, or even friends live in the home with a single mother.
◦ Only 14% of families - even families in poverty - are headed by single adults.
◦ Often two parents are very involved in child caregiving, even if one of them is not living in the home.
