Why would the Big Five personality dimensions have persisted in the human species?
◦ Humans form societies, and societal pressures cause these traits to persist.
◦ These traits are evolutionarily adaptive and therefore contribute to survival ability.
◦ Each of them places a limit on social interactions, thereby making it more likely that an individual member of the species will grow to adulthood.
◦ Each of these traits has a clearly identifiable genetic marker; therefore, all of them are present in all members of the species.

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.

There can actually be a 25-hour time difference between certain locations in the world. The International Date Line passes between the islands of Samoa and American Samoa. It is not a straight line, but "zig-zags" around various island chains. Therefore, Samoa and nearby islands have one date, while American Samoa and nearby islands are one day behind. Daylight saving time is used in some islands, but not in others—further shifting the hours out of sync with natural time.
