The patient is a 44-year-old female who had a left modified radical mastectomy four years ago. Soon thereafter she had a Port-A-Cath placed in the right side. However, the Port-A-Cath has caused an extreme amount of discomfort and she has asked that it now be removed. She was admitted to the hospital for removal of the venous access port, which was done without complications. The patient will return home and will be seen in the clinic to discuss other options.
