Answer to Question 1

Traditionally, when people speak about someone's intelligence, they are referring to a specific form that psychologists call cognitive intelligence, which is the ability to understand complex ideas, to adapt effectively to the environment, to learn from experience, to engage in various forms of reasoning, and to overcome obstacles by careful thought. This approach to intelligence has been around for more than 100 years, but today's scientists see that it may be very limited. Instead, they recognize that intelligence is not simply a matter of how much? but also of what kind? They have identified several different forms of intelligence. One of these is practical intelligence or what we commonly refer to street smarts; people with high amounts of practical intelligence are adept at solving the problems of everyday life. Another form, emotional intelligence, refers to someone's abilities to be sensitive to people's emotions. Growing evidence suggests that practical intelligence is, indeed, different from that measured by IQ tests, and that it is especially important in business settings. Emotional intelligence (or EQ), refers to a cluster of abilities relating to the emotional or feeling side of life. Growing evidence indicates that several aspects of emotional intelligence highly relate to the financial success of entrepreneurs.
