What is the difference between a demand-time fence and a planning-time fence?
-
The demand-time fence is the number of periods (beginning with the current period) during which few, if any, changes can be made to the master production schedule. The planning-time fence is a time fence that typically covers a longer period than the demand-time fence. The cost of making changes to the MPS within the planning-time fence is less than making changes to the MPS within the demand-time fence.
