A child in a third-grade classroom is found to be in the moral realism stage of moral reasoning. His teacher must leave the room and reminds her students of the rule that no one may leave her/his seat while she is gone. What will this child likely do when she leaves?
◦ The child will likely not get out of his seat because he is very rule-bound.
◦ The child will likely not get out of his seat because he can understand that he has a social contact with the teacher.
◦ The child may get out of his seat because moral reasoning does not assure moral behavior.
◦ The child will likely get out of his seat because he cannot understand fixed rules.
