Timothy O'Toole recently graduated from a teacher education program with a degree in elementary education and an emphasis in special education. He was a strong student in academics, enjoyed a successful student teaching experience in the fourth grade at the local elementary school, and is currently coaching basketball at the middle school. Mr. O'Toole received an invitation to interview for an elementary position in a small rural town approximately two hours away.
According to a national study of math and science teachers, professional development activities such as workshops are most effective when they contain three basic components. Describe these components.
