| Description: The wall of each alveolus is edematous and filled with fluid. There is poor blood flow in the capillary around the alveolus with some blood clots. The capillary walls leak fluid and blood into the alveolus. Capillary blood coming back to the heart (and going to the rest of the body) does not contain enough oxygen.
