Description: Insulin is a liquid drug that must be injected subcutaneously into the fat layer beneath the skin. The needle is inserted at an angle so that it does not go into the muscle layer. The back of the arms, abdomen, and many other sites can be used for insulin injections. A new site must be selected for each injection.
