Description: Add movement to skin lifting by gently pulling it in a certain direction (e.g., up and forward) to feel for restrictions. Try shifting in different directions, paying attention to points of more or less resistance. If resistance is detected, hold until a fascial release is felt. Variation: While lifting the skin, ask the client to take a couple of slow, deep breaths. The rhythmic expansion and contraction of the thoracic cage provides subtle movement, increasing shifting of the fascia.
