Description: Sensors are placed on the sides of the head and on the forehead to detect brain waves, an E E G. Sensors are placed at the temples to detect eye movements, an E O G. A nasal thermistor is placed in the nostrils to measure airflow. A sensor is placed under the chin to detect muscle tension, an E M G. A sensor is placed over the heart to detect heart rhythm, an E C G. Belt sensors are placed around the chest and waist to detect thoracic and abdominal movement to measure respiratory effort. A pulse oximeter is placed on the index finger to measure the amount of oxygen in the blood.
