Description: The first chart shows when blood osmolality is high, which flows to osmoreceptors in hypothalamus stimulate posterior pituitary to secrete A D H, which flows to A D H increases distal tubule permeability, which flows to high reabsorption of H 2 O into blood, which flows to low urine output in which serum slash blood osmolality decreases as the water dilutes body fluids.

The second chart shows when blood osmolality is low, which flows to A D H is suppressed, which flows to A D H causes distal tubules to become less permeable to water, which flows to low reabsorption of H 2 O into blood, which flows to high urine output in which serum osmolality returns to normal.
