During the introduction stage of the IPLC, products are developed in industrialized countries. The technology and manufacturing capability is typically not available in less developed countries. After development, products may be manufactured in less developed countries if cost savings become applicable and if technology and manufacturing capability can be transferred. This may be found in The Product Introduction Stage section (10-1a).
