Answer to Question 1

Answer: Air pressure decreases with elevation in the atmosphere. This occurs because air pressure is caused by the weight of air molecules. With increases in atmosphere, there are fewer air molecules and therefore less weight.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: No; some greenhouse warming is good for the planet, making climate conditions more favorable for our species. In the past, when CO2 levels were significantly lower than today, low CO2 levels contributed to a glacial climate. However, too much of the greenhouse effect results in significant warming, which can result in climates that are too hot for many species currently existing.

There are major differences in the metabolism of morphine and the illegal drug heroin. Morphine mostly produces its CNS effects through m-receptors, and at k- and d-receptors. Heroin has a slight affinity for opiate receptors. Most of its actions are due to metabolism to active metabolites (6-acetylmorphine, morphine, and morphine-6-glucuronide).
