Reduction in woody plant levels, increased cycling of nutrients, reduction in allelopathic and pathogenic substances associated with old decaying vegetation.

Answer to Question 2

Heavy grazing by domestic livestock, spread of seed by livestock, reduction in wildfires, climatic shift, activities of rabbits and rodents, atmospheric CO2 enrichment.
