Answer to Question 1

C
A lumbar puncture is done to examine cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) to identify the cause of encephalitis or meningitis.

Answer to Question 2

A
Because of the variety of clinical manifestations of AD, the diagnosis is made by eliminating other conditions that can present similar signs and symptoms. A definitive diagnosis can be made only through a brain biopsy on autopsy.
