Answer to Question 1

Malignant hypertension: Essential hypertension is insidious and usually asymptomatic. Malignant hypertension is a severe form of essential hypertension. It is treated as a medical emergency as soon as it is diagnosed. Diastolic pressures of 130 to 170 are not unusual.

Dialysate: The material passing through the membrane in dialysis. The concentration of its components can vary depending on the concentration of the waste products to be removed by dialysis.

Continuous Peritoneal Ambulatory Dialysis: Continuous presence of dialysate in the peritoneal cavity. Drainage of the cavity and replacement with fresh dialysate is done 3 to 4 times daily and can be performed by patients themselves at home.
