Answer to Question 1

Labeling can lead to crime when a person self-identifies with the criminal label. This criminal label eventually becomes their master status, or the main way in which they identify themselves. Once this occurs, a person feels cut off from conventional society and seeks out others who carry the same label. These individuals then form a subculture and engage in more illegal behaviors.

Answer to Question 2

TRUE
