Answer to Question 1

 Abstention from alcohol
Adequate calories and protein for recovery.
Low-fat diet initially until long term pancreatic function is determined and/or tolerance is assessed.
Pancreatic enzyme replacement30,000 units of lipase activity per meal and 20,000 units with snacks if long-term pancreatitis function is compromised
 Fat-soluble vitamin supplementation
Water-soluble vitamins (especially thiamin, riboflavin, niacin)

Answer to Question 2

Energy Requirements (30-35 kcal/day for weight gain):
30-35 kcal/kg x 90 kg = 2700-3150 kcal/day

Because there is evidence of some muscle wasting, protein needs will be greater:
1.2-1.5 g protein / kg body weight = 1.2-1.5 x 90 kg = 108-135 g
