A good diet includes foods from all of the food groups. Protein supplements should be avoided. Sodium and potassium should be replaced by a well-balanced diet. Caffeine and alcohol should be avoided because they increase dehydration (minors should not be consuming alcohol for legal reasons, as well). Carbohydrates should not be used as the sole energy source.
