Rationale 1: mL/dose = 1 mL/500,000 units x 20,000 units/1 kg x 1 kg/2.2 lbs x 187 lbs/day x 1 day/2 doses. Multiply the numerators and divide by the denominators. The nurse will provide the client with 1.7 mL of the medication for each dose.
