Answer to Question 1

A
Everyone exists within an environment, the surroundings or conditions that exert an influence on, and affect the health of, a person. One's environment is made up of physical, cultural, spiritual, social, economic, and developmental components. The environment can be supportive of a healthy lifestyle, or it can be a source of stress. The RN must recognize the influence of the en-vironment on people's health care abilities.

Answer to Question 2

D
The priority of care for health promotion is to help a patient regain control over his or her health. The priority nursing diagnoses include health-seeking behaviors or knowledge deficit. Outcome criteria and the measurement of outcomes focus on the progress made toward the primary goal of a higher level of health. The patient will need to be included in planning the care as a means to empowerment and compliance.
