Answer to Question 1

C
When a person with schizophrenia denies having the disorder, the most common reason for this is that the neurological changes that cause the illness also interfere with the person's ability to recognize that he is ill, a condition called anosognosia. Although a person with mental illness may experience denial, stigma, or command hallucinations, these are not the most common reasons for a lack of insight.

Answer to Question 2

B
During stage 1 of illness, the individual notices an undesirable change, is aware that something is not right, and seeks the advice of others. Dependency is stage 4 of illness and is characterized by relying on and accepting the attention of others. Recovery and rehabilitation is stage 5 of illness; and assuming the sick role is the stage of illness in which an individual accepts the illness and focuses on treatment and/or recovery.

There are major differences in the metabolism of morphine and the illegal drug heroin. Morphine mostly produces its CNS effects through m-receptors, and at k- and d-receptors. Heroin has a slight affinity for opiate receptors. Most of its actions are due to metabolism to active metabolites (6-acetylmorphine, morphine, and morphine-6-glucuronide).
