Answer to Question 1

A
Feedback:
Estrogen enters the cell and reacts with a receptor site inside of the cell to make changes and produce an action. This does not happen quickly, and it may take months to years to produce the changes. Estrogen, calcitonin, and thyroid-stimulating hormone react with specific receptor sites on the cell membrane to stimulate change and action within the cell.

Answer to Question 2

A
Feedback:
Parents need to be educated to read the labels of any OTC preparation they give their children. Many of these preparations contain the same ingredients and inadvertent overdose is a common problem. Giving a child a drug should not interfere with the mother's milk production. All these products contain chemicals, which are drugs; many can be used to treat more than one symptom.

There are major differences in the metabolism of morphine and the illegal drug heroin. Morphine mostly produces its CNS effects through m-receptors, and at k- and d-receptors. Heroin has a slight affinity for opiate receptors. Most of its actions are due to metabolism to active metabolites (6-acetylmorphine, morphine, and morphine-6-glucuronide).
