Answer to Question 1

ANS: A meter in which the beat is divided into three is called a compound meter,
whereas a meter in which the beat is divided into two is called a simple meter.



Answer to Question 2

ANS: Beat is the recurring pulse in music; meter concerns the grouping of beats.
