Tissues can be organized to form organs. One organ, the heart, relies on muscle tissues, nerve tissues, and connective tissues to pump blood throughout the body. When several organs work together cooperatively, these organs are considered parts of a body system. One such system, the digestive system, consists of organs and tissues working together to supply necessary energy, water, and essential nutrients to every cell in our bodies.
