Answer to Question 1

One possible error in constructing a histogram is to make the heights of the rectangles, and not the area of the rectangles, proportional to the frequencies. This frequently occurs when the widths of the intervals are not equal.
To remedy this, one must adjust the areas to be proportional to the frequencies. For example, if the intervals have widths of 10 and then jumps to a width of 20, the height of the frequencies for the greater width interval should be halved.
