The client's statement is unrealistic and is evidence of Risk for Post-Trauma Syndrome. Although the client with tetraplegia does have Impaired Physical Mobility and Self-Care Deficit, this statement is not evidence of those nursing diagnoses. There is no indication of Noncompliance.

The highest-risk population for spinal cord injuries is males between 16 and 30 years old. Riding motorcycles increases spinal cord injuries. Native Americans are the ethic group with the lowest risk of spinal cord injury. Using a seat belt is a major preventive action for an individual involved in a motor vehicle accident.
