Answer to Question 1

D
The most accurate response by the nurse would be to say, The shots, called Depo-Provera, have only progesterone in them, but they still work by preventing eggs from being released. All other options are false statements.

Answer to Question 2

D
Nurses should remember, for safety, to never apply heat or cold to an area numbed by
regional anesthetic (spinal, intrathecal, or epidural). The new graduate was correct in conducting an assessment of the client's pain, explaining the procedure to the client, and applying the pad to her own inner forearm to assess temperature. Also, the heat application should be removed if the client finds that it is uncomfortable or if it does not help her pain.

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
