Answer to Question 1

Feathers are plucked only minimally at the incision site. Water-soluble gel is used to hold other feathers away from the incision site. Modified surgical scrub should be performed  use warmed sterile water, not alcohol.

Answer to Question 2

The endotracheal (ET) tube may become plugged with mucus. The ET tube should be replaced immediately.
