An adult horse should be fasted for 8 to 12 hours.

 bucket of disinfectant solution in water
 surgical scrub and solution
 2 lidocaine
 3-12 ml syringe
 22-18 gauge needles
 obstetrical sleeves
 lubricant jelly or powder
 obstetrical chains or ropes and handles
 calf jack
 towels (for drying the fetus)
