Answer to Question 1

1) The surface etches from chemical and dust abrasion. Exposed fibers
harbor dust which results in reduced light transmission. Such panels can be
scrubbed clean and a new acrylic surface can be painted on.
2) The plastic binding the glass fibers together discolors thereby reducing light
transmission. There is no cure.
