Suppose you want to investigate whether there is a relationship between the gender of college students and whether or not they wear hats in school. What would be your null hypothesis and your alternative hypothesis (in words)? Be sure to label clearly which hypothesis is which.

NULL HYPOTHESIS: NO RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GENDER AND HAT WEARING IN COLLEGE STUDENTS; ALTERNATIVE HYPOTHESIS: THERE IS A RELATIONSHIP.
