What is the mean of the sampling distribution of means?
  A) 15.6 B) 19 C) 18 D) 15

Question 2

The numbers of books sold over the course of a four-day book fair were 182, 159, 223, and 86. Assume that samples of size 2 are randomly selected with replacement from this population of four values.

Answer to Question 1

A

Answer to Question 2

Possible samples: 182-182; 182-159; 182-223; 182-86; 159-182; 159-159; 159-223; 223-86; 86-182; 86-159; 86-223; 86-86
Means: 182, 170.5, 202.5, 134, 170.5, 159, 191, 122.5, 202.5, 191, 223, 154.5, 134, 122.5, 154.5, 86
The probability of each sample is 1/16 so the sampling distribution consists of the 16 sample means paired with the probability of 1/16.

There are major differences in the metabolism of morphine and the illegal drug heroin. Morphine mostly produces its CNS effects through m-receptors, and at k- and d-receptors. Heroin has a slight affinity for opiate receptors. Most of its actions are due to metabolism to active metabolites (6-acetylmorphine, morphine, and morphine-6-glucuronide).
