Description: Anteroposterior and posteroanterior are commonly used in radiology to indicate the path of the x-ray beam. For a posteroanterior (PA) chest x-ray, the x-ray beam enters the posterior chest, goes through the anterior chest, and enters the x-ray plate to produce an image.
