Endotracheal intubation
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: A laryngoscope is used to visualize the vocal cords prior to insertion of an endotracheal tube. The endotracheal tube is positioned in the trachea, just above the bronchi. A small balloon at the tip of the tube is inflated to hold the tube in place, and the external part of the tube is taped to the patient’s cheek.
