| Description: A muscle is composed of muscle fascicles. Around each fascicle are arteries, veins, nerves, and fascia. Each fascicle contains several muscle fibers (muscle cells). Within each muscle fiber are myofibrils that contain thin strands of actin and thick strands of myosin.
