Description: This male newborn is on the warming table in the delivery room. The vernix caseosa has been partially cleaned off of his trunk and arms. His eyes are swollen from the pressure of the birth canal. He is crying vigorously, but his distal extremities still show acrocyanosis (note the bluish color of the right hand and both legs). There is a plastic clamp on the stump of the umbilical cord. There are identification bracelets on both legs.
