Description: The radiologist reads a CT scan image as if he were standing at the patient’s feet while she is lying in the scanner. This CT scan image shows the liver on the left, which is actually the patient’s right side when viewed from her feet. Only one kidney is visible in this “slice” because the other kidney is positioned lower in the body (a normal occurrence) and will appear in subsequent “slices” (images).
