Description: Species that can produce coagulase (enzyme that clots fibrin) are able to wall themselves off from immune cells. These tubes contain rabbit serum. The species in the top tube produces coagulase and the serum becomes a gel. The bottom tube is negative for coagulase production and remains watery.
