| Description: This is Rhizopus nigricans. There are two forms of reproduction. Sexual reproduction is accomplished through a zygospore (pictured here) and asexual through a sporangiospore (pictured below). Sexual reproduction results in genetic variation through meiosis whereas; asexual produces genetically identical offspring through mitosis.
