Description: The Tail of Comet Ikeya-Seki
Named after its codiscoverers in Japan, this comet dominated the
predawn skies in late October 1965. The yellow in the tail comes
from emission by sodium atoms in the dust that was released by
the comet. Although its coma was tiny, its tail spanned over 1 AU
