Description: Creede, Colorado, circa 1890, a rough silver mining town that grew from 660 people in 1889 to over 10,000 in 1890. But after the “silver panic” of 1893, most mines were closed and the town was nearly depopulated. The census of 2012 lists 403 inhabitants.
