Description: a) Accommodation. From the top left image light comes distant object, and the lens focuses the light on the retina. From the bottom left image the lens changes shape to accommodate the light when the same object is moved closer. (b) Motion parallax. Looking out the train window, objects close to you race past quickly and in the opposite direction that you are headed. At the same time, distant objects appear to move slowly and in the same direction that you are traveling.
